Lawnmowers and sunshine eyes
My dad fixed my mower, so I am back in business again. He got it running it rather quickly, then we hung out for the whole morning. I showed him my most recent textile work, and he asked many questions, which is good because then I know that he's really interested in the processes. I also introduced him to Andy Goldsworthy. He has a little Goldsworthy in him. His eyes lit up when he saw the rock arches. And Bennie the squirrel made friends with him today, which sort of surprised me. Of course, I began to get a little nervous, because I could tell that Dad was just dying to tug on Bennie's tail. My god, Dad's such a kid sometimes, but at the same time I hope that he never loses that trait, because it's sort of funny and endearing. I told him that it wouldn't probably be a good idea to do that, and that he would most likely come out on the losing end. I'm glad he heeded my advice.
I need to get my Nikon worked on before I go -- a latch needs to be replaced. Monday I will take it in. Otherwise I won't have any good photos from this trip to Austria. That fricking digital thing, I can't stand it. I will stick with my SLR, screw technology!

Luddites unite! Even the best digital cameras don't offer the resolution of a good standard SLR. But they sure are convenient...
I tug on my roommates' dog's tail, which always sets him to chasing it. Never fails to crack me up.
But do you have a cell phone?
Certainly not. I hate the things.
Ja, me too. We're becoming an endangered species.
